UniMed CPR Certified

Safety is our number one priority. All our sitters are CPR certified by the UniMed Health System and are trained to properly assess emergency situations.

Our sitters have extensive child care experience. 

Background Check

We have conducted an official criminal background check on all of our sitters. 

Games and Activities

All of our sitters will arrive with a bag full of age appropriate games and activities.

Rates

$280 pesos / hour

1 to 2 kids. 

$380 pesos / hour

for 3 kids. 

Full payment is required to secure your sitter. It is recommended to book at least 48 hrs in advance to ensure availability.

We have a two-hour minimum and our service is provided for full hours only. 

​​After dark, we have a $150 pesos transportation fee to ensure our sitter gets a safe ride home. 

For more than 3 children or when a child in a group of 3 is under 3 years old, we recommend a second sitter.

  • How do I know that I am getting a qualified sitter?
    San Miguel Kids has the highest standards for hiring sitters. Each sitter has been extensively interviewed, has participated in our training program, has been background checked, and is a certified for pediatric CPR by UniMed Health. Perhaps just as importantly, Amber, owner and operator of San Miguel Kids, has a personal relationship with all of these women and continuously works with them to provide the best service possible.
  • How will I be able to communicate with the sitter if they don’t fully speak English? What about the kids?
    Our sitters know a little English and are continuing to learn. Your sitter will already have the complete information about you and your family that was provided at the time of the reservation. This information will include feeding times, nap times and bedtimes, preferences, and any sensitivities your child may have. Amber, owner and operator of San Miguel Kids, is fully bilingual and is just a call or text away to handle any unforeseen questions or concerns that may arise.
  • What are the sitters able/willing to do?
    Our sitters' priority is keeping your kids safe and making sure they have a great time. They will arrive with our Fun Is Here bag full of fun activities for all ages. Because we want them to focus solely on the kids, our sitters do not clean, do laundry, or cook. They will be more than happy to provide a meal that has been made, give snacks, or order delivery. (In fact, we know the best pizza in town!) For safety reasons, sitters also do not give baths or showers, allow children to go swimming, give medication, or let anyone who has not been pre-authorized into the home or hotel room. Of course, we make exceptions, but they have to be discussed and agreed upon prior to booking.
  • How do I check in with the sitter?
    All our sitters use WhatsApp, and we find that it is the best way to get in touch with them. They are also available by text message or phone. If you'd like regular updates on your child, please let us know, and it can be arranged.
  • How do I book my sitter for second time?
    Booking a sitter must be done directly through San Miguel Kids. The sitters are under a nonnegotiable contract with San Miguel Kids, so they cannot work for any outside client. Our sitters honor their agreement with San Miguel Kids, and we hope you will too.
  • Should we tip our sitter?
    Gratuity is not included. Our sitters work in the service industry, so tips are very much appreciated. The amount will vary widely, but we recommend anywhere from 15% to 20%, though the quality of service you felt you received is the best way to decide.
  • Should we provide a meal for the sitter?
    Sitters will bring their own food and snacks. However, if the service is for four or more hours and during mealtimes, we strongly encourage providing a meal.

Allow your guests to relax and truly enjoy every moment of your celebration. Ask about our packages created for weddings and social events. 

"Valeria was indispensable to our visit to San Miguel this summer. Traveling with young kids can be unpredictable and tiring but she made it relaxing and fun for everyone. She was extremely flexible with her availability, always on time and stayed late when needed. Sandra kept our two-year-old son for about 2.5 months while I was studying in San Miguel.  She was his first care provider. Our family thinks so highly of Sandra.  She was kind, attentive, communicative, and dependable.  Most importantly, for us, she was genuinely interested and nurturing towards our son.  He adores her, and we are so very sad to end our time with her – but my school is taking us elsewhere.

 

Our family used Amber’s service while I was studying at a university near San Miguel.  We loved our childcare provider, and appreciated that payments, scheduling, and communication was so seamless.  We would use Amber again (as well as our nanny).

My son was well taken care of and had no problem adapting to the sitter, probably because she was so friendly and knew just what to do. 

The report at the end of the night was a great touch and let me know what was happening while I wasn’t home.
